Capabilities
-
High-Accuracy Measurements:
Achievable accuracy ranges between 0.01mm - 0.1mm -
High Resolution:
Resolution may vary depending on the size and complexity of the object being scanned, but our 3D scans are typically high resolution -
Object Sizes:
Objects as small as 5 cubic mm and up to 600 cubic mm are currently achievable -
Multiple file formats: Receive scans in formats compatible with various design and software applications.
Limitations to consider

-
Line of Sight: 3D scanners only capture what they can directly "see." This means hidden features, internal cavities, and anything obscured by other objects are missed. Complex objects with holes, undercuts, or intricate details can be a challenge.
-
Surface Level Capture: 3D scanners typically capture just the surface of an object. They don't provide information about the material properties (like density or composition) or internal structure of the object.
-
Challenges with Specific Materials: Certain materials pose difficulties for scanners. Shiny, reflective surfaces like polished metals can confuse the scanner due to light reflection. Similarly, transparent objects like glass can be difficult to capture accurately as the light passes through them.
-
Scan Quality and Resolution: The quality and resolution of the scan depend on various factors. Scanner type, object size and complexity, scanning environment (lighting, vibrations)
-
Scanning Speed: While scan times have improved, capturing complex objects with high resolution can still be a slow process compared to traditional methods.
-
Object Size and Complexity: Very small or large objects, or those with highly intricate details, can be challenging to scan effectively. Different scanning techniques or multiple scans from various angles may be required.
